hey world.
Yes, I am more than aware that it has been a full year since posting here, but you know...I guess I've been pretty busy living my life instead of posting about it. (I might also be quite bad at blogging. One of the two.)
Today I celebrated my golden birthday (21 baby!) in the way I almost always spend my Sundays these days: church, singing at the rehab center, home/visiting teaching, choir practices (yes, that's multiple), ward prayer, nice notes, random dessert/games; today just happened to include more off-key singing in my general direction.
All in all, I'm equal parts excited and hesitant to fully join the world of adults...it's kind of a scary thing, growing up. Scary, but good. and necessary. and ultimately inevitable.
I know that people tend to do new years resolutions, which are great and all, but I figure, why limit yourself to new goals and aspirations once a year? Which means that I have a handful of goals for myself at the dawn of this new (birth) year. Some of which include:
- Come closer to Christ
- Keep up the habit of going to the temple weekly
- Ride a motorcycle
- Write more thank you notes
- Visit every temple in Utah once by the end of the year
- Find a major I love (and stick with it...)
- Paint more
- Hike Timp to watch the sunrise
- Become fluent in something.
- Plan and execute a major (road) trip. Somewhere. Anywhere. Just not Utah.
- Spend more time in/on the water
- Do my own family history
- Sing at the rehab center every week.
- Read more classic novels. They're classic for a reason
- Be more timely with uploading pictures of my life (this one will probably be the most difficult.)
- Run a half marathon
- Give away a copy of the Book of Mormon
- Learn to dance (not like a white girl. I've got that down easy.)
- Be more compassionate
I'll add more to this as I see fit (:
Until then, happy birthday to me.
