. . . golden girl . . .

hey world.

Yes, I am more than aware that it has been a full year since posting here, but you know...I guess I've been pretty busy living my life instead of posting about it. (I might also be quite bad at blogging. One of the two.)

Today I celebrated my golden birthday (21 baby!) in the way I almost always spend my Sundays these days: church, singing at the rehab center, home/visiting teaching, choir practices (yes, that's multiple), ward prayer, nice notes, random dessert/games; today just happened to include more off-key singing in my general direction.

All in all, I'm equal parts excited and hesitant to fully join the world of adults...it's kind of a scary thing, growing up. Scary, but good. and necessary. and ultimately inevitable.

I know that people tend to do new years resolutions, which are great and all, but I figure, why limit yourself to new goals and aspirations once a year? Which means that I have a handful of goals for myself at the dawn of this new (birth) year. Some of which include:

- Come closer to Christ
- Keep up the habit of going to the temple weekly
- Ride a motorcycle
- Write more thank you notes
- Visit every temple in Utah once by the end of the year
- Find a major I love (and stick with it...)
- Paint more
- Hike Timp to watch the sunrise
- Become fluent in something.
- Plan and execute a major (road) trip. Somewhere. Anywhere. Just not Utah.
- Spend more time in/on the water
- Do my own family history
- Sing at the rehab center every week.
- Read more classic novels. They're classic for a reason
- Be more timely with uploading pictures of my life (this one will probably be the most difficult.)
- Run a half marathon
- Give away a copy of the Book of Mormon
- Learn to dance (not like a white girl. I've got that down easy.)
- Be more compassionate

I'll add more to this as I see fit (:

Until then, happy birthday to me.

two decades

As of today I am officially 20 years old. It's crazy to think how quickly these past few years have flown by; it is an honest truth that time speeds up as you get older - I have certainly felt it. I think that this year will be pretty momentous, and I also think that I am ready for it (:

i'll work on my procrastination problem...tomorrow

hello world
Yes, I am still alive.
No, I haven't updated this in a while.
Is anyone really that surprised? (i don't even think anyone reads this anyways...)
Well, now I'm back, possibly for good, and maybe I'll even post more often.

Cross your fingers (:

i've given into the blogging fever:

I figured this would be the easiest way to keep whatever family members, friends, and stalkers (just kidding) up to date with what's happening in the fantastic life I lead.

First things first:
1. Don't expect this to be consistent. I'm a notoriously horrid journal-writer, so even though this is basically the same thing - and one can always hope for improvement - this will be an exercise in patience for everyone involved.
2. This blog doesn't have a theme or specific content, or else it would have been called something else, perhaps along the lines of "Liz Finds Love in Happy Valley: A Detailed Account of the BYU Dating Scene" or "1001 Reasons Why Provo May Cause Insanity" or "My Goals: Because Someone Like Me Needs A Public Forum To Actually Fulfill Them"   basically, if you care enough to read what I have to write, then you should be happy with the posts I provide. Thank you.
3. Procrastination is a special skill of mine, so posts may or may not always be timely. I'll just keep you on your toes.
4. If you want to help me make this silly blog pretty (in a low-tech, idiot-proof way of course) then by all means, help a sister out.
5. Ridiculing the way I make my smiley faces will not be tolerated. They are fine the way they are (:

Let's get this thing rolling!
